IT Technician/Broadcast Enginner

WSYR-TV seeks an entry level I.
T.
Technician/Broadcast Engineer to perform information technology support for the station, and to assist with installation, setup, operation and maintenance of other digital broadcast systems.
This individual will also assist with daily operation of the station, maintaining servers, printers, VPN, wireless access points and PC workstations.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

Manage user accounts through Active Directory.

Manage and assist users with E-mail and desktop support.

Install, manage, and maintain servers and workstations with various Windows and Linux OS.

Administer antivirus and similar support systems.

System upgrades.

Work on live remote broadcasts.

Install and terminate video, audio, network and RF cabling.

Trouble shoot and correct signal flow issues.

Manage daily recordings, satellite feeds, live news feeds and FTP process for commercial and programming content.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Skills:

Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

CompTIA A
certification a plus.

Experience in broadcast television or a related field preferred.

Experience with remote desktop applications and VPN a plus
Experience with electronics repair a plus.

Knowledge and experience with Adobe editing systems a plus.

Experience with AV switching, video encoding/decoding, signal routing, and file transcoding a preferred.

Fluency in English; strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work 2nd shift, a flexible work schedule and extended hours, as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The IT Technician/Broadcast Engineer must be able to stand, sit, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the effectiveness of co-workers.
Able to work near others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
The IT/ Broadcast Engineer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.
Repetitive movements are required.
