BROAD FUNCTION:
The Product Marketing Chemist will interface with customers and sales teams to provide application and technical support for field GC instrumentation.
Responsibilities:
Develop analytical methods for GC applications on existing and new products for petrochemical markets
Produce technical publications in conjunction with Marketing Communications, to include application and technical notes, operating manuals, white papers, as well as general marketing material
Conduct GC installations and product training for customer audiences with varying levels of technical understanding
Create or edit presentations and other materials to communicate application and technical development for product training, seminars and trade shows
Conduct seminars and product demonstrations at customer sites and trade shows
Interpret technical information and provide remote technical support and training via phone and Internet to worldwide sales teams and customers
Support field pilot projects at customer locations such as drilling sites and research facilities
Manage GC demo products, calibration gases and application testing accessories
Approximately 25-30% travel (domestic and international)
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Recent graduates will need to provide a copy of their transcript as part of the interviewing and selection process.
Technical writing experience creating technical reports, papers and standard operating procedures
Experience with technical sales support
Experience presenting and teaching technical information in front of large groups
Strong interpersonal skills for the resolution of issues associated with completing daily activities
Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written)
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe and Framemaker suite of products
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Experience in performing analyses for petrochemical industry, including but not limited to natural gas, shale gas, liquefied petroleum gas and refinery gas
Minimum of 2-4 years working experience with GC instrumentation in performing analytical method development, column selection and sample preparation
Critical analytical skills to effectively evaluate equipment performance and troubleshoot equipment and process problems
