Accounting Supervisor

Job Description: Performs a variety of administrative accounting work and applies accounting principles and methods in maintaining the fiscal records and systems.
Reports to: Financial Controller
Provides training and supervises accounting staff as assigned
Establishes clear objectives and day to day priorities for accounting staff
Effectively plan and organize the work of you and your team €“ handling multiple projects efficiently, effectively and productively
Reviews and audits accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing/maintenance, cash receipts
Records journal entries to the general ledger
Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed
Records Account Manager expenses to the P&L
Records commissions to account manager statements
Provides and maintains excellent customer service relating to department responsibilities with employees, vendors and customers
Provides periodic backup to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing/maintenance, payroll and other related positions.
Performs other duties as assigned by Financial Controller

Availability to Work
Regular office hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am- 5:00pm with the occasional need to work overtime to meet deadlines
Intermittent weekends required during certain times of year (year end, etc.)
Training or Knowledge Needed
Associate Degree in Accounting/Business Admin, minimally with at least 3 years relevant work experience
Previous experience in a supervisor capacity
Sales/use tax knowledge
Understanding of GL coding and Accounting Principles
Practical experience working with MS Office applications, with extensive use of Excel

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
